Divine Devotions from the Word of God

Divine Devotions from the Word of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ What Does it Mean to be Born Again?

A Divine Devotion from the Bible

                In Part

Many times, in these fleshly bodies we yearn to be completely free from sin in a sense where we no longer sin at all.(2 Cor 5:4) That day will indeed come, but presently, as we look inside of our hearts and examine the motivation of our actions we truly begin to see ourselves for what we are; sinners in need of Jesus Christ the Savior of the world. Now, as we are confronted with the sinful natures we must confess them to our High priest and continue to press into Him in confidence of His grace and mercy(1 Jn 1:10, Heb 4:16). It is very easy to look at ourselves without interruption. What happens is our eyes are taken off of Jesus and put on ourselves. How miserable!!! Do not get me wrong, repentance is an ongoing process. There is no excuse to continue in habitual sin and unrighteousness.(Rom 6:1). The need here is to put our eyes on Jesus Christ and the finished work of the cross.(John 19:30) The Holy Spirit through the writer of Hebrews, exhorts us to look to Jesus, as the author and finisher of our faith.(Heb 12:2) Jesus began a good work in us and he will finish it as promised.(Phil 1:6)So, are you feeling partial, inadequate, and unworthy? Now, take your eyes off of yourself and commit yourself to Him who casted your sins into the depths of the sea(Micah 7:19) and one day when we stand face to face with our Heavenly Father, that which is in part will be done away with.(1 Cor 13:9-10) Amen.
